– signs exclusive distribution agreement with Electrosteel

Ibeco supplies ductile iron pipes to the Nordic market – signs exclusive distribution agreement with Electrosteel
Ibeco, part of the water and wastewater group Uniwater, has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with
British company Electrosteel. The company manufactures and sells ductile iron pipes, and under the agreement Ibeco
has Nordic exclusivity for all of Electrosteel's products, allowing Ibeco to significantly
broaden its offering.
– We see very great synergies in adding ductile iron pipes to our existing product portfolio. Ductile iron pipes from Electrosteel will be important components in both new construction and the upgrading of existing pipes in the water and wastewater network. They will become key components in enabling us to offer complete solutions to our customers, says
Andreas Carlberg, Nordic sales manager at Ibeco.
Electrosteel is headquartered in England, just outside Sheffield, where it also has a large stock of ductile iron pipes for the European market. This means lead times are short for both large and small projects. Electrosteel views the Nordic market as an important growth market with great potential. A market they have not previously managed to enter, but through the distribution agreement with Ibeco Electrosteel sees a fantastic opportunity to quickly gain market share.
– We have been looking for a suitable partner, and when the dialogue with Ibeco began we immediately saw that this company was something quite special. In our world, this is a perfect match and we have high expectations for our collaboration. The Nordic countries do not have a large population, but the distances are long and the requirements are high when renovating or building new water and wastewater infrastructure. Here, Ibeco's wider range together with our products will become a highly attractive offering for Nordic customers, says Stew Bailie, Managing Director at Electrosteel.
With their technical properties and the way they are produced, ductile iron pipes offer many advantages, which is why Ibeco has now chosen to offer these pipe solutions to its customers.
– You never need to worry about water quality with ductile iron pipes. Ductile iron pipes are
diffusion-tight, meaning that any contaminants cannot penetrate the pipe. Another advantage is that ductile iron pipes are both recyclable and made from partly recycled material, which is in line with our ambitions in sustainability and the circular economy. We are extremely excited to be able to offer Electrosteel's ductile iron pipes to the Nordic market, says Andreas Carlberg.
Ibeco will be exhibiting at Vatten 2023 at Svenska Mässan in Gothenburg, 24–26 October,
