The Rip Seal tapping seal is used for connecting corrugated or smooth plastic pipes to concrete pipes and manholes. The seal is made of EPDM and is available in versions for both concrete manholes and plastic manholes, for pipe diameters from 200 to 560 mm. The system consists of two parts. The hole is drilled to the selected size, after which seal A is fitted into the drilled hole with the internal stop facing inwards. Seal B is fitted onto the spigot end of the pipe. Both seals are lubricated with a lubricant suitable for the pipe material, concrete or plastic, and the pipe is then pressed into seal A until it reaches the stop. The connection can be fitted to both pipes and manholes, and the pipe can be deflected after installation. Other sizes are made to order and adapted to the outside diameter of the pipe.
