The Spider chamfering tool is used for chamfering PE pipes and is intended to be run together with a machine, not as a hand tool. The tool is clamped against the pipe end and rotated by the machine, giving an even and repeatable chamfer around the whole pipe without the work needing to be adjusted by hand. Spider is available in two versions that together cover pipe sizes from 75 mm up to 160 mm, where the smaller tool works in the range 75–110 mm and the larger in 110–160 mm. At size 75 mm, the tool is not intended for SDR 11. The cutting blade is the part that performs the actual chamfering and can be replaced when worn, as extra cutting blades for Spider are available to order separately as an accessory.
