About the product
Cherne flexible high-pressure pipe plugs block and seal pipelines during leak testing, isolation and repair. The rubber and metal are vulcanised together, which prevents the components from separating under high back-pressure. The plugs are pressurised with water, supplied as standard with a car-type valve for air inflation, and are field repairable. Overfill protection is included. Stocked sizes cover pipes from DN100 to DN800, with a maximum back-pressure of 150 mWC and a working temperature of -18 to +52 °C. When installing, place the plug at least one pipe diameter into the pipe and block or brace it before inflation. Inflation pressure and back-pressure are monitored with calibrated gauges, at least every four hours during operation. The pipe must be cleaned of debris before the plug is positioned.
