Split penetration seals

The split penetration seal is used where a pipe passes through concrete and a gas- and watertight closure is required between the medium pipe and the casing pipe. Because the seal is split, it can be fitted around the pipe in place in the bore hole. A 40 mm thick EPDM rubber element is compressed between two pressure plates as the bolts are tightened, pressing against both the pipe and the bore wall. Maximum pressure is 5.0 bar, and axial anchoring is required from 3 bar. The working temperature range is -55 °C to +204 °C. The seal is also radon-tight. The tightening torque follows the bolt size and is set lower for thin-walled plastic pipes.
