Ovality in pipes is common, particularly in pipe from a coil or pipe with a high SDR rating and therefore thin walls. It is essential that the pipe is round for the socket to seat correctly, and this rounding tool is used to restore the pipe's round shape. The rounding is carried out before insertion into the socket, so that the pipe end has the correct geometry when it is inserted and the seal makes even contact around the full circumference. The tools are of type D and are designed for specific sizes, which means you select the tool according to the actual pipe size rather than using an adjustable universal tool. The range covers PE pipe in sizes dy200, dy225 and dy250, and is also available for dy280. The tool is placed around the pipe end and tightened until the pipe is round.
