Ovality in pipes is common, particularly in pipes supplied from coils or pipes with a high SDR rating, i.e. thin walls. It is essential that the pipe is round for the socket to fit correctly, and the rounding tool restores the pipe's round shape before the pipe is inserted. Rounding always takes place before insertion into the socket. The tools are of type C and are designed for specific sizes, meaning that each tool is used for a particular pipe size. The range covers PE pipes in sizes 63, 75, 90, 110, 125, 140, 160 and 180 mm, so you can select the right tool for the pipe to be jointed. As the tool works directly against the pipe wall, no preparation of the pipe end is needed beyond the usual preparation for installation.
