Chain Seals KTW/W270

The chain seal guarantees an absolutely air- and watertight seal between the media pipe and casing pipe, or between the media pipe and borehole, thanks to the radial expansion that occurs when the segments are bolted together. The interlinked segments are available in many sizes, from IL100 to IL650, making the seal highly flexible and an ideal solution for almost any application, including retrofitting. The sealing elements are made of EPDM rubber and withstand working temperatures from -40°C to +80°C, with a maximum pressure of 5.0 bar. During installation, the pipe is centred within the casing pipe or borehole, the chain is placed around the pipe with the bolt heads facing outwards and pressed in alternately from the 6 o'clock to the 12 o'clock position. The bolts are then tightened clockwise using a torque wrench and retightened several times. Other material grades are available on request.
