Loose bolts, nuts and washers in size M16 are used when a flanged joint is to be assembled or supplemented with individual parts instead of a complete bolt set. M16 is the bolt size that recurs in flanges PN10 and PN16 in sizes DN40–DN125 and in PN25 up to DN80, making it one of the most common sizes in smaller pressurised systems. The bolts are available in lengths from 65 to 120 mm, so the length can be matched to the combined thickness of the flanges and gasket. The parts are supplied in acid-resistant stainless steel A4 or galvanised (fzv) finish, depending on the environment's corrosion protection requirements. The nuts in acid-resistant stainless steel are treated against seizing, which makes tightening easier. Threaded rod M16 is also available in acid-resistant stainless steel.
