Segment-welded 15° bends are used for changes of direction in pressurised PE pipelines, for example water and wastewater pipelines. The bend is built up from segments welded together to the required angle, which means it can also be manufactured in large sizes. The material is PE100RC, the same polyethylene grade as the rest of the pipeline. The bends have straight ends and are welded to the adjoining PE pipe in the same way as the pipes themselves, giving a homogeneous, end-load resistant joint. The range covers pipe sizes from 355 mm to 630 mm outside diameter in SDR11. The bend is also available in SDR17.
