Ovality in pipes is common, particularly in pipes supplied on a coil or pipes with a high SDR number, that is, thin walls. For a socket to seat correctly, it is essential that the pipe is round. The tool is used to restore the pipe end to a round shape before it is inserted into the socket. The rounding takes place before insertion into the socket. The tools are of type B and designed for specific sizes, meaning that each tool is used for a particular pipe size. The range covers PE pipes in sizes 20, 25, 32, 40 and 50 mm. As the tool is size-specific, it is important to select the correct size for the pipe in question, particularly with thin-walled pipes where the ovality is most noticeable.
